A job board collects postings and lets you search and filter them. It is good for discovering companies and roles. It usually doesn’t check whether a posting is a duplicate, a repost or already closed, and it leaves judging fit and applying to you.
A resume tool helps you write and format your resume, and sometimes cover letters. It improves the document, but it doesn’t find roles, tell you which ones are worth applying for, or keep track of your search.
Upswing works on the search itself. In the pilot it reads roles from employers’ own job boards on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby and from job aggregators, merges the reposts, and flags ghost-job signals, red flags and closed roles. It scores every role against your experience with the honest reason it isn’t higher. Once you turn on auto-apply and set its limits, it applies for you, and sensitive questions always come back to you.
Upswing also gives you a coach and mentor for your whole career, there when you need it: tips tailored to you every Monday, interview prep from your own resume, and a coach you can ask. Help with performance reviews, career paths and the foundations of new skills is rolling out in the pilot.
