The Upswing service

Upswing is pre-launch and invite only, and launches as a hosted service. Before it opens, we will publish a full privacy policy for it: what the service stores, where it is processed, which providers handle it (including sign-in, email, browser and payment providers), how long it is kept, and how to export or delete it. This overview covers only this website.

This website

The site runs no advertising and no cross-site tracking. It does measure how it is used, with PostHog analytics. PostHog records page views and clicks on a few marked buttons (Request your invite, and the Email us buttons), so we can see which pages and links lead people to sign up or get in touch. It stores a random identifier in a first-party cookie and in your browser’s local storage, so repeat visits from the same browser are counted as the same visitor. Each event includes the page, the referring site, any campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters), browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It does not record your screen, keystrokes or form contents, and the identifier is not linked to your name or email. Events are sent through this site (upswing.work/ingest) to PostHog in the United States, and are shared with no one else. The same PostHog project also measures Digital Foundry’s other websites, so a visit to more than one of them may be recognised as the same browser.

That is a change from an earlier version of this page, which said the site included no tracking or analytics scripts. If you would rather not be counted, choose Turn off in the analytics banner, or reopen it at any time with . That opts this browser out, and PostHog then sends nothing. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are opted out automatically. Content blockers also stop PostHog, and you can clear the cookie and local storage for upswing.work at any time. The site works the same either way. Hosting infrastructure (Vercel) also processes requests and keeps short-lived operational logs, including IP addresses. If you request an invite, your name and email go to CirqleSync, the form provider we use, and are used only to tell you about your Upswing invite and launch. If you join the Upswing Practice list, or tell us on its price page that your firm would pay, your name, firm and work email also go to CirqleSync and are used only to email you about Upswing Practice’s availability and pilot. We keep them for at most two years after our last contact, and every email lets you unsubscribe. This overview describes the pre-launch website; it is not the Upswing service’s privacy policy.
